"Worse Mario Game I've played" 2009-08-13
By D. Mingay (UK)
I have played pretty much played every Mario Game (certainly every "platform" game) since the original Mario Bros - Before they were Super. In terms of playability this is by far the worst. There is so much pointless waffle (they call it a story) during and before the game even starts I just got bored! The gameplay just isn't there to warrant it.

If you compare it to Mario Galaxy - there is now comparison. Shoddy graphics - even the "3D" isn't really 3D as Mario is still in 2D. The constant having to flip between characters is rather irritating.

I was really looking forward to this game - alas it was a waste of money. I've since traded it for something else.

Overall really do not waste your money on this game - it's not worth it.

I am a serious Mario fan, and didn't write this review lightly!

"Not as the original...ok gaming.." 2009-06-01
By Carolina.' Trini ' (U.K)
I was having such high expectations of the game as I really loved the old version of super mario, the game as good but very difficult to play as I could not get past a certain level which I have given up on.

The game also has too mush talking and reading in it and not enough gaming time.

The 3d play in the game is very good and the little helper magical butterfly, that was an excellent improvement.

The game could get you playing for hours, when you get home from work etc.. (if you have that much time).

A must buy as it is super mario, even if you don't like the game that much its one for the collection.

"A very enjoyable paper weight, role playing adventure game." 2009-05-27
By Dragonlord (Cornwall)
Super Paper Mario is a an rpg/platformer. Paper Mario doesn't have the depth of a Zelda game but it does have lots of cool ideas which make it fun. One of the best things is the way you can flip from 2D into 3D, which you need to do for navigating your way around the levels and solving puzzles. Overall Super Paper Mario is a fun quirky adventure game with plenty of Nintendo magic, but it's a bit easy and isn't as good as Mario Galaxy or Zelda (then not many games are).

 "Fun, funny and addictive!!" 2009-04-11
By Prof. Plum
I bought this game when I bought the console and played it until completion. It has puzzle elements, thankfully not too easy and not too difficult but challenging nonetheless. It has platform and boss elements. The seven levels in the game are imaginative and the home planet is delightful- colourful, funny characters and much to explore. You have to play a platform type game with a 3D view option which you need to finish or achieve certain tasks. The other Mario characters join you as you progress on your quest and their unique abilities are needed for different levels, sub-levels and you even find you need to change character within some individual screens. This may sound complicated but the controls are easy with no bad camera angles. Collecting items, potions and powers is an addictive aspect to the game but the most addictive parts are when you get stuck and try and try to progress. Try it!
